As a kid, I started a newspaper called The Washington Elementary Times at my grammar school in Santa Barbara. It covered all the school events and probably included some juicy gossip. I conducted interviews with teachers and fellow students. While other kids played sports or took ballet, I scouted around ‘playing reporter.’ I was awkward and chubby, uncomfortable in my body; so writing and body issues have been in my life since the get go.

I founded LogoRhythms in 1990, offering freelance writing and editing services. The name was inspired by my passion for language (I studied five at once in college) — that’s the Logo part. Rhythms comes from my fascination with and deep appreciation for bodywork. I became a certified yoga instructor in 1985, and earned a massage therapy license in 1991, starting Articulate Body Systems that same year.

There will be a book about the amazing experiences I had throughout the fifteen years I spent as a massage therapist and somatic educator! I still instruct yoga and find that the poses offer a language all their own. As we become fluent in our bodies’ language we move more comfortably through the world and, hopefully, extend compassion and understanding to those we meet along the way.

My attention to detail, management and organizational skills round out a repertoire that I believe serves my clients well in both realms.
