Meticulous Editing

Grammar gets a bad rap these days, and punctuation is all too often ignored or abused. Every letter matters (consider the case of a ballet company inviting parents to pick up their kids’ rectal packets—they meant recital of course, but Spellcheck did them no good and this actually came across my desk as a finished mailer. Symbols, too, help readers and clients stay connected. It’s easy to confuse, bore or turn readers off entirely. Effective punctuation keeps them engaged with content and clear on its intended message.

I’ve worked with both fiction and non-fiction writers, re-vamped website content for individuals and corporations, and did extensive work for the City of Bozeman’s UDC. Formerly Managing Editor for The BoZone, I currently edit the Bobcat Football Magazine.

Let me polish your prose to a brilliant shine — I love this stuff! Contact me for a list of my favorite grammar geek titles including Spunk and Bite (yes, that’s a takeoff on Strunk and White).

Cynthia Logan edited my debut novel and a followup novel in the same series. Her comments and reflections on the works were particularly helpful in steering my fiction writing toward a fuller development of characters and their interactions. I credit Cynthia with helping take my novels to a higher level of technique.

Cynthia Logan’s profile of Jacob Needleman was terrific; she captured the essence of The American Soul and, moreover, she really seemed to understand the tenor and different facets of his career. Hers is one of the more satisfying profiles that I have read of him.
